🎭Drama Camp 2022🎭
Great fun was had in Ballycloghan through the week of 18th – 22nd July as 10 young thespians pooled their talents and created, scripted and performed The Ballad of Cialain Bob Gillain.
An intriguing tale of murder, mystery and intertwined connections – culminating in a dramatic guilty or not guilty finalé – the pressure was on the audience to decide…
Campers worked on character development, capturing emotions, improvising activities and working as a team with all sorts of fun games. They also had quiet focussed moments working on their individual shoe-box theatre projects, some had chosen a poem or well known story to create a scene for, others wrote their own stories and created their own characters and situations.
On the last day as a pre-performance calming session everyone made a quick glove puppet to ease the nerves – but everyone was excited for the show which went down a storm with a standing ovation from the audience – and a rendition of We don’t talk about Bruno by the cast – complete with a boomwhacker accompaniament!
Great fun altogether – roll on September when we’ll be having Speech & Drama classes with a Christmas production at the end of term!
Lessons will be in Longford town on Saturday morning, places will be limited so be sure to book you spot!
